At a glance

The business

Furniture, homewares and interior design on the Gold Coast, selling online and running design projects.

The website

Over 1,000 pages of product and service content.

Set-up

"Less than 5 minutes" to a chatbot that knew the website, in Ryan's words.

The result

A $6,000 sale that started in the chat, and sales from chats every month, Ryan says.

Before

Before: enquiries fell through the cracks

Biku is a small team, usually with customers. Enquiries came in through a product form on the website, Facebook, Instagram and email.

"Having to log into multiple platforms each day just didn't happen. They fell through the cracks," Ryan says. "It was too hard to check all platforms while servicing customers and doing design jobs."

He wanted a way to talk to customers on the website, and "a centralised inbox for my staff to see all online enquiries". A custom chatbot cost too much for a small business.

What they tried

The chatbots they tried didn't know the business

"I looked at other chatbots and none of them held any information from our business, so how can a standard chatbot really help Biku customers?"

Setting it up

Setting it up: 1,000+ pages in minutes

Biku's website has over 1,000 pages of products and services. SmartChatAI read them for Ryan with its website crawl.

"SmartChat had a simple crawl system, so in less than 5 minutes I had a bot that knew all the details from our website to handle customer enquiries."

What customers ask

What Biku's customers ask

Mostly questions about specific products (stock, sizes, delivery) and about the interior design service.

The chatbot answers from Biku's own website. When a customer is keen, it collects their details through the leads form, and the Biku team follows up.

We asked Biku's chatbot on 27 October 2026:
Visitor
Hi, we're building a new house in Hope Island. Can you help with the interior design for the whole house, and how does it work?
Biku Concierge
Absolutely, we can help with the interior design for your new house in Hope Island. It starts with a free 15-minute design call where we discuss your vision, preferences, and the layout. If we're a fit, we offer a free 3D plan and concept board within three business days. You can book the call at https://www.biku.com.au/design-services or leave your number for a callback.
We made a $6k sale from the bot.

The result

The result: chats that turn into sales

"Our online customers started interacting with the site, and that turned into sales."

"It sends a notification when someone has left their details, so you can call them straight away, and that has turned into sales."

"We made a $6k sale from the bot. Each month I make money from it, where the customer has interacted with the bot, it answered the questions, and then we got a sale out of it."
